The JCC in Manhattan is seeking a talented, creative web developer. As the lead web developer, you will work with a team creating innovative and engaging web and mobile applications. Reporting to the Director of Digital, you will help implement best-of-breed solutions which excite both long-time JCC members and new members alike. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building the back end of web sites, apps, widgets, and systems required to promote and support the JCC's clients.
Required Skills
Knowledge of WSDL and using HTTP, MIME, SOAP, and/or XML protocols to create and maintain web services
Languages: ASP.Net, C#, jQuery, Ajax, MSSQL, Python, javascript, HTML5/CSS3
Experience with social media (FB, Twitter) APIs
Familiarity with MVC Frameworks, XSLT
Photoshop or other graphic design software
Able to parse JSON, XML and CSV structures
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously under varying deadlines.
Other Desirable Skills
Experience with LINQ and with major systems implementation or migration.
Mobile site and Mobile app development
Create pixel-perfect HMTL/CSS renders from Photoshop PSD files
Previous commercial CMS experience
Experience building web architecture and development environments
Responsibilities
The focus for this role is 80% back end development and 20% front end work.
Build and implement APIs and web services.
Mentor Web Developers on technical issues and best practices; demonstrate ability to balance own technical work with mentoring role.
Research emerging technologies that will increase outreach and benefit members.
Dedication to best practices for code structures, testing plat, QA, implementation, and support documentation.
Work to develop and support best-practices for SEO implementation for the organization and its content managers.
Create clean, well-documented and optimized, error-free code.
Participate in design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews, formal code reviews, bug triage, and functional walkthroughs.
This position will include occasional additional work hours beyond the normal schedule.
