The Ceramics Studio offers great facilities in a friendly work environment, featuring: 4 large worktables, slab roller, nine pottery wheels, 2 electric kilns (fired to cone 6 oxidation, using a white stoneware clay body), and cone 6 studio glazes. Other clay bodies available for advanced students — selection will be at the discretion of the Studio Director and may change per term.

Open Studio Time for registered students in ceramics courses and workshops offers a 3-hour Open Studio card, provided with course registration. Additional timecards can be purchased at the lobby box office: 5-hour Open Studio card $15/$20; 10-hour card $30/$40. (1st price listed for JCC Community members/2nd price for nonmembers.) Schedule of open studio time will be distributed during the first week of class and is determined by studio availability around class sessions.
Additional Costs: Materials fee of $30 is included in course cost and covers clay and studio glazes. Class tools are provided. Bisque and glaze firing fees are calculated as follows: firings are $.03 per cubic inch ($.75 minimum firing fee), re-firings are $.02 per cubic inch.
